I took a pretty long break, but now I'm back. I moved back up to Seattle and am living with my parents. It's been an adjustment. I'm the only kid at home now, except for almost every weekend when my sister comes home from SPU to visit. I've been home more than a month, but I still don't feel like I totally fit here. I still have stuff in boxes and things just don't all fit into my little room at home. My parents have been a lot more chill than I expected, but I still miss the freedom and independence I had gotten used to in Eugene.
I got a job working at King County Elections, where I worked this summer. It's only temporary, but they called me back and they really like me! My Dad's friend was able to get a job there just by saying that she knew me! It's been really affirming to be so highly regarded by an employer. And, most excitingly, I have an interview at SPU for the ARC grad program!! I go in Thursday morning at 10. I'm pretty nervous, but I'm so glad I'm getting a chance to personally interact and show them how excited I am to become a teacher.
I'm kind of discouraged in the social area right now. It seems like so many of my friends are still at school, or live far away. It's been a big adjustment to basically start over here. I hang out with Raj's friends, but I miss having a large group of friends around. I'm working to reestablish connections here, but it takes time and I'm impatient!!
Overall, I'm feeling positive about where my life is headed right now, and other than feeling lonely at times, I'm just trying to work hard!
