I'm only taking 9 credits this term. Which is pretty fabulous when you consider that it's my last term at the University of Oregon, and I want to spend as much time as possible with the people in Eugene who have been such a big part of my life for the past 3 years. The problem comes when I realize that just because I have seemingly endless free time, doesn't mean that everyone else does as well. Most of my friends are overwhelmed with homework. Meaning I'm left with a whole lot of time to hang out, but no one to hang out with! It's been especially noticeable this week. I'm halfway through the term and there are so many people I still want to spend time with! And if my statistics of reconnecting with friends continues through the rest of the term, I will have seen about 4 of my old friends! Not so good. It wouldn't be so bad if I had something productive to do during the day, but I haven't really come up with much. I'm not working (because who will hire me for only 2 months?), I can only work on my thesis for so long before I go crazy, I haven't heard back about tutoring, and I'm not involved in much since I'm about to leave. I've been reading a lot, just for enjoyment! That's probably one of the most positive things that's come out of this. I feel like I call my parents when I have nothing to say, just to talk to someone. I'm caught up on all my tv shows, and the internet only entertains for so long. I need something purposeful to do, but what can I do when I'm leaving Eugene in 5 1/2 weeks?
On another note, November is going well so far! I haven't made it to the gym to do any cardio yet, but I've been doing workout videos in my room! Aside from this monthly challenge business, my goal is to fit into my skinny jeans by Christmas! I'm working on eating better to go along with the workouts. I went grocery shopping today and bought zucchini and other fruits and veggies, and ingredients to make the power bar recipe Sarah gave me. Here's hoping for success and skinny jeans soon!
